One wonders if Lighthouse Evangelism would have ever been born if the following incident narrated by Pastor Rony did not happen:

In mid-1975 I was seized by a terrible chronic pain in my stomach. There was not a single moment of relief for four days and three nights. In my agony I saw my day turned slowly into night, and night turned slowly into day. I was denied of sleep and food. Even plain water would not stay in my stomach as it would be violently vomited out when consumed.

According to medical advice, an emergency surgery was imperative. I was not willing to submit my body to the surgeon’s knives, knowing my weak condition could not withstand an operation. Toward the fourth day I knew that without a healing touch from the Lord, I would surely die.
   With a strange awe, I was brought to a stunning realization that this world is indeed not my home as I am just passing through. Not a king or a president of the most powerful nation could help me except God Almighty. In a flash, I saw my near-wasted life with deep sorrow. I felt terribly guilty and sorry for not responding to the call for full-time service earlier.

I coveted for another chance from God to be obedient to His call. Then I made a covenant with Him that should I be healed, I would obey His calling and spend the rest of my life serving Him in full-time capacity. Oh, praise God, He heard this wretched man’s prayer. He touched me and made me whole!

I am now living on borrowed time. Woe is unto me if I preach not the Gospel." 		  Following his healing, Pastor Rony began to serve the Lord actively. Together with eight other Christians from Jubilee Presbyterian Church, he pioneered Lighthouse Evangelism in 1978.

The following year he began to conduct miracle rallies. While praying for his first healing crusade, God spoke to him in an audible voice, saying, "Son, I'll use you to shake the nations."

These words have been fulfilled literally in all overseas crusades over the last 23 years. Beginning from General Santos City to Iloilo City in Philippines, he has evangelized in cities in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Japan, Australia, Fiji, Israel, Canada and the United States of America.

In most of our crusades, we have literally seen thousands 		  upon thousands thronged for the Kingdom of God. Pastor Rony's main emphasis is on the healing of the total man, beginning from the inside (the human spirit) out (the physical body). He has written numerous books dealing with life issues, core values and eternal perspective.
