| Back to Featured Testimonies Dr Tan Hun Hoe Severe Stroke And Supernatural Healing Of A Blocked Artery Supplying Oxygenated Blood To The Brain Healed at the Miracle Service, Singapore In the late night of May 18, 2002, Dr Tan Hun Hoe, a surgeon by profession, was resting in bed when he felt a little restless and uncomfortable. His wife Suelyn, who is also a doctor, first noticed that he was in a daze. Then, in their conversation, Suelyn knew something was amiss as Dr Tan could only utter monosyllabic words. She switched on a light and discovered that he had no control over the left side of his face. In fact, the whole left side of his body was out of action. By then, Suelyn recognized that Dr Tan was suffering from a stroke. She immediately woke up her son and called for an ambulance. While waiting for the ambulance, although Suelyn was frightened and felt helpless, she laid hands on him and prayed together with their son. Even on the way to the hospital, Dr Tan began to recover some strength and control over his left hand and leg. Once Dr Tan reached the hospital, a CT scan was conducted and confirmed that he had just suffered a stroke in his right brain, which led to the paralysis of the left side of his body. The MRA (magnetic resonance angiogram) pinpointed that a major artery supplying oxygenated blood to his right brain was blocked. The neurologist explained that Dr Tan was very fortunate to escape severe damage to his right brain because there was a timely collateral flow from his left brain to the right. However, Dr Tan and Suelyn knew in their hearts that God, in His mercy and grace, had averted a major catastrophe. Over the next few days, Suelyn inquired about the possibility of the blocked artery opening up. The neurologist told her that it was medically unlikely. Suelyn simply told the neurologist that they would pray and believe God for a miracle. Dr Tan was discharged after five days of hospitalization. However, as he tired easily, he worked only half-day and performed surgery only when it was absolutely necessary. On June 15, 2002, Suelyn's brother brought them to the Miracle Service. Dr Tan felt the wonderful presence of God and was touched by the powerful message from the pulpit. A Gospelighter prayed over him. He felt a sudden flush and release through his neck and up his brain, which could be the removal of the blockage in his artery. Deep inside, he knew something had taken place and was very encouraged. The following Monday, sensing that something wonderful had taken place, Dr Tan asked the radiographer at his hospital to conduct an ultrasound scan on him. No trace of clot could be found. When he showed the results to his neurologist, the specialist was skeptical and doubted the authenticity of the scan. He ordered the same procedure by his radiographer which yielded identical result. Still unbelieving, the neurologist put Dr Tan through another MRA. A strong and healthy artery appeared in the scan, proving beyond any doubt that Dr Tan had been completely healed without any treatment or surgery. The two scans were screened at the Miracle Service, showing beyond doubt that God had touched a surgeon. |
