Betty Shun

Miraculous Deliverance From Mitral Valve Prolapse,
Low Blood Pressure And Severe Migraine Headache

Healed at the Miracle Service, Singapore

In 1994, Betty Shun chanced upon a discovery during a pre-employment check-up that she had a heart defect. Subsequent scans confirmed that she was born with mitral valve prolapse (MVP) - a condition when one of the mitral valve cusps of the heart is bigger than the other. She was told not to be alarmed since her condition had not posed any problem before the discovery. Betty did not think much of it and continued to lead a normal life.

However, in the morning of January 15, 2002, after a routine walk to her office, she felt a sudden chest pain. Gasping for air, she was pale and could not talk. A concerned colleague drove her to a clinic right away. She could only mutter to the doctor that she had chest pain. After conducting an ECG and a quick examination, her doctor immediately arranged for her to be hospitalized as her blood pressure was too low and her heartbeat was abnormal.

She was warded and put on a drip. Tests were conducted on her heart and lungs. After four days, she was discharged with no medication given. Betty's chest pain eased, but she was still breathless and her blood pressure remained low. Meanwhile, back at the office, she could not perform her job as a receptionist because she was too weak to even hold a normal conversation.

On January 31, her cell group members visited her at home and prayed with her. They also encouraged her to attend the Miracle Service at Lighthouse Evangelism. Incidentally, at the Christmas at the Stadium event conducted by Lighthouse in December 2001, Betty received a wonderful touch from Jesus. For 24 years, severe migraine headache plagued her every fortnightly and each time, she had to take leave from work and depend on painkillers to alleviate her suffering. Since the night she was prayed for at the Stadium on December 14, the migraine headache has stopped completely. Hence, she decided to attend the Miracle Service, confident that God will also heal her heart condition.

At the Miracle Service on February 2, 2002, she walked into the Sanctuary, still weak and breathless. When she was prayed over, she felt a tightness all over her body. At the end of the service that night, her body loosened up and she immediately felt better. Progressively, she regained her strength and began to breathe better and could hold a smoother conversation.

At the follow-up check-up at the hospital on February 21, her doctor was astonished to find that her blood pressure and heartbeat had returned to normal in such a short time. On February 25, Betty was overjoyed when her doctor told her that even her mitral valve has miraculously become normal. Although her doctor could not explain how that was possible, Betty knows that God has delivered her from her suffering and even blessed her with a new heart. Praise the Lord!
