I am very happy at work and have been getting excellent appraisal for my performance for the past 4 years. My salary has reached its ceiling for the grade, and this means I will not be getting any increment for subsequent years.  

I brought up this issue to my managers and HR to consider moving me to the next level like my counterparts in Europe and the US. They are at a higher grade even though we perform the same job role. The management did not agree to this proposal, and I was considered getting a new job. Even though I had enough savings to be without a job for up to 2 years, the current pandemic situation and my age became a concern while making this decision.  

In 2019, I tried getting an internal transfer but to no avail. Recently, the company got a new Workday system and while updating my profile in the system, I came across an internal job posting.
