| The Wonderful Healing Of Gout And Varicocele |
|
On February 6, 1999, Edward Yeo attended the Miracle Service with gout in his toes. Despite taking painkillers, his toes swelled and ached so badly that he had to drag his affected foot. While laboriously climbing the stairs to the Sanctuary, he committed his condition to God. By the time he reached the Sanctuary entrance, he was amazed that the swell and pain had ebbed away.
As soon as he stepped into the Sanctuary, he saw on the stage screen what he thought was a scenery of Heaven and angels flying about. After he rubbed his eyes, these images disappeared. He felt peace and immediately took what he saw as an indication that God had healed him. From that night onward, he did not experience any recurrence of that gout.
In July 2001, after washing his car, Edward's right testicle swelled painfully. He took a painkiller and rested, thinking that he might have overstretched himself. Although the pain subsided after 3 hours, the attack returned a week later. He took more painkillers for relief but the attacks came on more frequently, as many as 3 times a week. Edward began to worry but he still kept this embarrassing condition from his family.
He consulted a general practitioner (GP) who prescribed antibiotics, painkillers and anti-swelling medication. However, the attacks persisted. Finally, he shared his plight with his family. They became so concerned that they stopped him from doing anything that might aggravate his condition, including doing simple chores. Edward felt sad and helpless especially when he could only look on while his wife and daughter struggled to carry the groceries.
In August 2001, his condition worsened. By then, both his testicles were attacked. His testicles would become hard and swollen during each attack. To reduce the torturous affliction, he had to lie down immediately. He consulted another GP who suspected that he had prostate cancer and referred him to a urologist. This only distressed Edward further.
On September 15, the urologist confirmed that he had the third and final stage of varicocele (varicocele is the swelling of the testicles caused by incompetent valves within the veins along the spermatic cord). An inevitable operation was scheduled for November 13, 2001 because his condition was deemed serious. Edward resigned himself to having this operation and made all the preparations, including getting insurance and arrangement for his post-operation care.
While he was on his way back from work on September 22 Saturday, he heard a voice urging him to attend the Miracle Service. At first, he brushed it aside to take a nap. However, at 4.30 p.m., that same voice woke him up suddenly. This time, he obeyed.
At the service, Edward cried and sought forgiveness from God. Despite being miraculously healed of gout 5 years before, he had turned to only modern medicine instead of trusting the Almighty God for healing. He stood up during the mass healing prayer and a Gospelighter prayed over him. He did not feel any difference, but he believed by faith that God had touched him. Later in the night, he helped an elderly man from his wheelchair into a taxi. He was surprised that there was no pain but a good feeling instead.
Since that night, Edward has not experienced any more attacks. He has started to wake up early in the morning to study the Word and seek God again.
On October 18, his work assignment required him to climb up the stairs to inspect parts of a 21-storey building. Seeking a confirmation for his healing, he prayed, asking God for strength. When he managed to walk up and down the high-rise building without even feeling short of breath, he knew that he had received complete healing from our gracious heavenly Father. Edward had since canceled the operation.
