| Standing Tall - Leg Lengthened |

The evening of 4th July 1998 is a Saturday night Irene Lee will never forget. That very night God performed a creative miracle that enabled her to stand tall.
In 1996, Irene's consultant orthopedic surgeon reported that her left hip was inflicted with osteoarthritis, a condition found usually in elderly folks. X-ray indicated that her hip joint was in a state of degeneration. The only treatment applicable was a total left hip replacement, which the consultant advised, should be held off for as long as possible. This was because the hip replacement would only last less than 20 years. Furthermore, when this had to be refitted in the future, the next replacement would not fit as well as the previous one.
As time passed by, Irene experienced such increasingly torturous pain that even the strongest painkiller tablets did not have any significant effect in alleviating the excruciating torment. The stabbing spasm of pain was so intense that it seemed to penetrate right into the bone marrow. In May 1997, her consultant finally decided to perform the surgery without further delay because he saw that she had suffered more than necessary.
After surgery, Irene was informed that due to a slight natural deformity in her inner hip, the artificial ball and socket could not be positioned properly. As a result, her left leg was now one and a half inches longer than her normal right leg. As such, Irene would have to wear a platform shoe on her right foot.
In June 1998, Irene came to Singapore so that she could celebrate her father's 90th birthday with the rest of the family. Her cousin, Dr. Angelina invited Irene to the Miracle Service - an invitation she accepted readily.
At the Miracle Service, Irene could sense the awesome presence of God in the Sanctuary even as she first walked in. Encouraged by the powerful testimonies of those who received complete healing from God, her faith increased and she pictured herself healed, just like them.
When Pastor Rony came by, he led her by the hand to walk and then to run. She was also instructed to take off her shoes. As she did, she lifted her skirt a little to check. She could hardly believe her eyes when she saw that her knees were at the same level. Her normal right leg had grown to match the length of her left leg. It was miraculous that instead of shortening the artificially lengthened left leg, God had lengthened her normal right leg. In other words, Irene, who used to be 5 ft ½ inch tall, now stands at 5 ft 2 inches. She is indeed standing tall for the glory of God!
Irene returned home to England. But she came back to Lighthouse Evangelism 5 months later to testify of God's love and power for the second time.
