So he said to me, this is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6)

God has the power to change the course of our lives with just one move. He has the power to turn our lives around. In the presence of His Spirit, who we are and what we’ve done before don’t matter anymore. The only thing that matters is what God has done and will do. He is the God of new beginnings and second chances.

Faith is the only thing we require for Him to move. James 2:17 says our faith must be accompanied by action. When we act on our faith, miraculous things happen. God makes everything fall into place. We fall right onto the path that God has already destined us for. You may ask, “What if I don’t have what it takes?” God assures us that because He already has what it takes, we don’t have to. We only need to trust Him. Between surrender and control, God can do much more with our surrender than we can ever do with our control. Will we lay it all at His feet? I pray that we will all have mustard-seed faith that can move mountains!

What comes from God belongs to God. Nothing can stop His plan. Throughout the Bible, God would move in times of great trouble. Are you facing problems? Good! Because it means God will move. Every miracle in the Bible started as a problem. God has already prepared the stones for your Goliath. All the great men and women of God were made in the refiner’s fire. Their faith was refined when they were thrust out of their comfort zones.

Noah was regarded as a fool for 120 years until God sent the rain. Sarah was medically infertile as she was already well past the age of childbearing until God gave Abraham and her His promised son 25 years later. Although God destined Joseph for greatness, he rose to power only around 20 years after his brothers sold him into slavery.

God is preparing us for His next move, but not everyone is ready. Will you prepare yourself for God to move in your life? Many of us are satisfied with our status quo. We look to culture for answers about our lives rather than through seeking God. Kings and prophets used to seek God for everything. Before they do anything, they would seek God for His guidance and they would wait for God’s answer. There were always serious consequences when they acted in rebellion against God. As God’s chosen people, will we reclaim this lost dependency and obedience to God? Will we position ourselves to hear from God and obey when He speaks? Remember, all it takes is ONE move from God.

Do you want to receive God’s next assignment for you? Do you want God to move in your life in a mighty way? English Missionary William Carey rightly says, “We must expect great things from God. We must attempt great things for God.” 

Finally, remember that God wears a different watch from us. His timing is mysterious. We may endure seasons when God appears to be silent and we seem unfruitful. But rest assured, God is moving. He is moving even if his answer is not yet. He is moving even if we are to rest in His love and wait.
